Holidays in Reston – Two of Our Favorite Things!

The annual Holiday Sing-A-Long at Wolf Trap and the Winter Walk of Lights at Meadowlark Botanical Gardens are two Reston area holiday events not to be missed! For us, these events worth making an annual tradition. Both are a quick trip from Reston and are wonderful ways to mark the season.

Holiday Sing-A-Long at Wolf Trap

Wolf Trap’s Annual Holiday Sing-A-Long includes a performance by the United States Marine Band and a sing-a-long of Christmas carols and Hanukkah songs with local choir and vocal groups from the metropolitan Washington area. This is a wonderful event that is fun for all ages!

Saturday, Dec 7, 3 p.m. at Wolf Trap
Free!

We love this event as a great way to officially start the holiday season. It’s fun and festive, yet low-key. Plus, we often see friends and family at the event.

Admission is free and no tickets are necessary. Parking is free but limited so you need to plan to arrive early.

Wolf Trap participates in Toys for Tots and collects new, unwrapped toys at the entrance to the Filene Center before the sing-a-long. Donations are voluntary.

Winter Walk of Lights

The Meadowlark Botanical Gardens Winter Walk of Lights is a half-mile walkable light show. There are animated lakeside lights, a fountain of lights, and a holiday nature walk plus new displays each year.

Now through Sunday, January 5, 2020 (including holidays)
Open nightly at 5:30 p.m.
Tickets start at $8 and discounts are available

This is a feast for the eyes and a great way to get in some much-needed outdoor exercise. If you are into s’mores, you can roast marshmallows and sip hot beverages by the fire!
