For Reston VA Real Estate, Call The O’Gorman Team

Any real estate agent can find you homes for sale in Reston, VA. But The O’Gorman Team knows that your home is about more than the listing. It’s about your lifestyle — the schools your children attend, the activities your family does, the places you explore every day.

That’s why working with a Reston-based team when you want to buy or sell Reston VA real estate is so important.

The O’Gormans have lived in Reston for more than 30 years, and often run into clients at the Reston Farmer’s Market, walking around Reston Town Center, supporting Reston’s many triathlons (Boofie) or youth sports and activities (Margaret). They love Reston. That’s why they live AND work here.

The O’Gorman Team’s unique business model and emphasis on strong team communication allows them to offer an extremely personal level of service and attention to detail that they cultivate from the moment you call until well after the close. They have also developed relationships with local vendors who can facilitate your real estate transaction and furnish additional services as needed.

Margaret O’Gorman

Margaret is a lifelong Reston resident, and is thrilled to be raising her two children here. Like Boofie, she knows Reston well and loves finding the right neighborhood for her clients. Margaret left Reston for a few years to attend Syracuse University. After graduation, she worked for a local mortgage company where she learned another side of the real estate business. Having worked for a mortgage company, Margaret has an expertise and perspective most real estate agents do not: she understands the financial impact of obtaining the right mortgage, and believes part of her role as the real estate agent is ensuring the mortgage process runs smoothly. She has worked alongside Boofie for more than ten years, perfecting her expertise in the real estate markets and fostering partnerships to better serve her clients.

Margaret can provide her clients with first-hand details of what it is like growing up in Reston. She spent summers swimming on the Reston Swim Teams and attending camps. As a teenager, she was a Reston Association lifeguard and Swim Team coach. She attended The Madeira School in McLean before heading to Syracuse University. Like her mother, she is involved in the community, believing that giving back makes the community she loves stronger. She is a past member of Board of the YMCA of Fairfax County, Reston. She helped the YMCA found the Reston Kids Triathlon in 2011 (the proceeds contribute to camp scholarships for the YMCA & Reston Association). She was awarded the Jim & Karen Cleveland Award for Community Partnership by the YMCA in 2012.

Boofie O’Gorman

Boofie’s long-time presence in Reston gives her a unique perspective on real estate opportunities for both buyers and sellers. Having raised her family here and working in Reston real estate for more than 30 years, Boofie’s personal experience provides insights on community nuances and area home sales trends that can only be derived from this depth of knowledge and market savvy.

Boofie loves helping families find the perfect home because she knows how her own family flourished here. “The rich diversity of the area has given us a deep appreciation for the many cultures and lifestyles around us. I have always wanted to be a part of the community and to follow [Reston founder] Bob Simon’s mantra of ‘live, work, play, and give back.’”

Boofie believes the economic diversity that has been a hallmark of Reston since its inception is important to recognize. She has contributed to the support structure for those in Reston who are less fortunate by encouraging collaboration among social service organizations such as The YMCA, Cornerstones, and Reston Association’s programs to assist the community’s youth.

Boofie’s personal investment in enhancing the Reston area benefits clients as well. Her community involvement and first-hand knowledge of local events reflect her dedication to the area. This personal familiarity also allows her to guide clients to their ideal property.

The O’Gorman team evolved from Boofie’s desire to preserve the highest level of service as her success generated increasing business demands. That is why she was thrilled when Margaret decided to partner with her in the business. Together they provide critical market insights, quickly and efficiently.
