Renergize Your Home with Fall Indoors
We’re all home more these days. As the season shifts to fall, it can be a great time to bring some new energy into your surroundings. Try these easy ideas to bring fall indoors.
Update your entry. Add something with a fall theme to your front door. Place a pumpkin or two to your porch. I like to start with whole pumpkins early in the season and then carve them as jack-o-lanterns around Halloween.
If you have planting space near the front door add mums or other plants suited for shorter daylight hours and cooler nights.
Add some candles. Pick options that reflect the reds, browns and yellows of autumn. Treat yourself to scents like apple pie, cinnamon and pumpkin.
Some candles have wooden wicks that mimic the crackling of wood in a fireplace.
Rotate your linens. In bedrooms, this is a great time to use sheets and comforters that have fall patterns and colors. You may even change out curtains or use tiebacks with fall themes.
In the living room, pick a throw that is fitting for the season. If you are a fan of throw pillows, add some of them as well.
Bake a pie. Apples and pumpkins are sure signs of fall. Pick up your favorite pie filler at the farmer’s market or the grocery store. Nothing makes a home more welcoming than the smell of a fresh baked pie. Oh, and eating the results isn’t bad either!
Enjoy the sites and scents of fall outside your windows and inside your home. After all, there’s no place like home!
